LET: Pranavi finishes 3rd in Spain

21-year-old Pranavi Urs from Mysore, the 2022 Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (Hero WPGT) season rankings winner, carded rounds of 66-69-71-68 (14-under 274) to register a solo third place finish at US$ 740,000 Open de Espana, the season finale on the Ladies European Tour (LET).

Pranavi made US$ 42,000 (₹ 35.5 lacs), her highest earnings from a single tournament this season.

It’s been a season of firsts for Pranavi, who earned her LET card less than a year ago after a gritty top-20 finish at the Final Qualifying in Morocco in December last.

In her debut year as a full-time LET member, she played 17 events, made the cut in 14, and racked up six top-10 finishes. Her consistency saw her finish 17th on the season rankings, the best among Indians, with total earnings of US$ 1,64,809 (₹1.39 crore).

Meanwhile, Aditi Ashok, a five-time LET winner and the defending champion this week, carded steady rounds of 70-71-70-70 for a tied-16th finish at 7-under 281. Diksha Dagar, a two-time winner on the tour, finished tied-42nd at 1-under 287 (71-72-69-75), and Tvesa Malik ended tied-70th with an 8-over 296 (72-75-77-72).

Diksha’s 29th-place season finish means two Indians are in the LET’s top 50 for 2024. While this year didn’t match last season’s highs—when Diksha and Aditi were 3rd and 4th, respectively—Pranavi’s emergence offers a glimpse of an exciting future for Indian golf.
