DP World India Championship unveils Lotus trophy

The DP World India Championship has unveiled the Lotus Trophy, the official prize for the winner of its inaugural edition, scheduled as part of the Race to Dubai’s “Back 9” series this October.

Crafted from premium crystal, the trophy draws inspiration from the Taj Mahal and the lotus flower, symbols of elegance and heritage. Its scalloped edge mirrors the Taj Mahal’s domes, while the centre piece features a nine-point lotus cut, a nod to the Lotus Temple and the cultural significance of the number nine in Indian tradition and golf. The stem, shaped like a golf ball, roots the design firmly in the sport.

The event marks another milestone in India’s emergence as a destination for world-class golf. DP World, the Tour’s title partner since 2022, has extended its commitment to India through this tournament, adding to its sports partnerships with the Delhi Capitals and grassroots initiatives such as Second Life Containers and Balls for Birdies.

The championship is backed by a strong group of partners including Hero Fincorp (Premium Partner), HSBC, Rolex, Emirates, GMR (Official Partners) and Bisleri, Adidas, BMW, Titleist (Suppliers).

The DP World India Championship will be the eighth of nine events leading into the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, further strengthening India’s presence on the international golfing map.
