Delhi Golf Club gears up for historic DP World India Championship
The iconic Delhi Golf Club (DGC) is ready to welcome some of the world’s biggest golfing names for the DP World India Championship, the richest professional golf event ever held in India.
From October 16–19, the Lodhi Course will host a star-studded field led by Rory McIlroy, the five-time Major champion and reigning Masters winner, alongside Tommy Fleetwood, one of Europe’s standout players from the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage. Joining them will be Shane Lowry, Viktor Hovland, and Luke Donald, the European team’s two-time winning captain.
Adding to the international flair are Brian Harman, the 2023 Open Champion, and Ben Griffin, a two-time PGA Tour winner and U.S. Ryder Cup team member.
Indian Golf’s Finest on Display
The home challenge will be spearheaded by Anirban Lahiri, who memorably won his last international title at DGC in 2015, along with Shiv Kapur and Chiragh Kumar, both past winners at the same venue. Rising Indian stars Shubhankar Sharma, Veer Ahlawat, and Arjun Prasad will also look to impress on home turf against one of the strongest fields ever assembled in Indian golf.
A Festival of Golf and Entertainment
Beyond the fairways, the DPWIC promises a fan experience unlike any Indian golf event to date. The Spectator Village will feature an “Eat, Play, and Experience” concept, combining interactive fan activities with world-class dining and entertainment.
Spectators can indulge in culinary delights from Punjab Grill, YOUMEE, Zambar, Fresco, Artfull Bakers, and Umamiburg, alongside artisanal desserts from minus.30 Ice Cream. The food village will feature shaded picnic zones, beanbags and a giant LED screen to follow live tournament action in comfort.
Fan Engagement and Brand Experiences
Fans can explore brand showcases, including BMW’s latest luxury models, Emirates’ photo stations and giveaways, and an exclusive Adidas merchandise store offering limited-edition golf apparel.
The DP World Area will host a cutting-edge golf simulator, skill challenges, and even cricket and football activations — creating a festival atmosphere that blends sport, lifestyle, and family fun.
As the DGC prepares for this landmark event, all eyes will be on Rory McIlroy and the world’s elite as they vie for the biggest prize purse in Indian golf history, while fans experience the most immersive and vibrant week the sport has ever seen in the country.
