Vani Kapoor clinches fifth title of the season with stunning finish in Jaipur

Vani Kapoor closed in style with three straight birdies to edge past Jasmine Shekar and claim her fifth win of the season at the 14th Leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at Rambagh Golf Club.

Vani’s superb finish capped another consistent round of 2-under 68 — her third in as many days — giving her a 54-hole total of 6-under 204. Jasmine, who also signed for a 68, finished one shot behind at 5-under 205 despite a closing birdie.

The victory strengthened Vani’s position at the top of the Hero Order of Merit. Sneha Singh took third at 2-under 208, while Amandeep Drall finished fourth at even-par 210.

Starting the final day with a one-shot lead, Vani briefly slipped behind when Jasmine birdied the opening hole. The two traded blows through the front nine — Vani’s bogeys on the third and fourth holes allowing Jasmine to pull level, before the leader regained a narrow edge with a birdie on the par-3 sixth. Jasmine responded with another birdie on the ninth to tie once more.

Jasmine moved ahead with a birdie on the 11th, while Vani’s steady run of pars kept the contest alive. With three holes to play, Jasmine held a one-shot lead — until Vani surged with birdies on 16, 17, and 18 to seal the title.

Amateur Riya Jadon carded a brilliant 67, the second-best round of the week, to finish fifth at 1-over 211. Seher Atwal fired a 4-under 66, highlighted by five birdies in seven holes, to share sixth at 2-over 212.

Smriti Bhargava finished eighth with a 69, while Khushi Khanijau (70), Jahanvi Bakshi (73), and Ridhima Dilawari (75) tied for ninth at 4-over 214.

With five wins in 11 starts this season, Vani continues to lead the Hero Order of Merit ahead of Amandeep Drall, Jasmine Shekar, Sneha Singh, and Ridhima Dilawari.
