Amateur Mahreen Bhatia storms ahead with eagle-fuelled 66 at Jaypee Wishtown

Amateur standout Mahreen Bhatia produced a brilliant back-nine charge, highlighted by a holed-out eagle on the par-4 14th, to take a two-shot lead after the second round of the 15th leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at Jaypee Wishtown.

Mahreen carded a five-under 66, featuring an eagle and four birdies against one bogey, for an eight-under total of 134. She leads five-time 2025 winner Vani Kapoor, who closed birdie-birdie for a 67 and sits second at six-under 136.

Two-time winner Sneha Singh (68-70) is third at four-under, while Jahanvi Bakshi’s bogey-free 68 lifted her to fourth at two-under. Only four players remain under par heading into the final round after a tougher scoring day that yielded just four sub-par rounds.

Amateurs Saanvi Somu and Kriti Chowhan, along with Anvitha Narender and Ridhima Dilawari, share fifth at even-par 142. Overnight leader Lavanya Jadon slipped to a 76 and is tied ninth at one-over.

Mahreen’s back-nine fireworks included three straight birdies from the 10th to 12th before her eagle at 14 and a closing birdie for a stunning six-under 29. The cut fell at ten-over 152, with 24 players advancing to the final round.

Big names including Shweta Mansingh, Neha Tripathi and Vidhatri Urs missed out.
