Theegala finishes T-42 as Schenk earns long-awaited PGA TOUR win in windy Bermuda
Sahith Theegala closed with a two-over 73 to finish T-42 at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, ending an uneven week in the PGA TOUR Fall. The Indian-American posted rounds of 76-65-70-73 to finish at even-par 284, slipping into the lower half of the leaderboard.
It caps a difficult season for Theegala, though his appearance in the 2024 TOUR Championship secures his card for both 2025 and 2026, regardless of his Fall finish.
At the top, Adam Schenk finally broke through, winning for the first time on the PGA TOUR in his 243rd start. Schenk held off Chandler Phillips with an even-par 71 in gusts exceeding 30 mph, making one birdie and several clutch par saves on a day defined by survival.
His toughest test came at the 18th, where he putted from off the green to five feet and converted to win by one. The victory gives him a two-year exemption, a massive jump after starting the week at No. 134 in the FedExCup.
Japan’s Takumi Kanaya, one back going into the final hole, saw his par putt lip out in the crosswind. The miss dropped him from a potential leap to No. 83 to No. 99, leaving him under pressure heading into the final Fall event.
