Avani and Aditi rise into top-6 ahead of final day in Spain

India enjoyed its strongest day yet at the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España, with Avani Prashanth and Aditi Ashok surging into tied sixth after impressive third-round performances in Málaga.

Avani produced a classy 4-under 68, while Aditi followed with a polished 3-under 69, pushing both Indians to 8-under after 54 holes at Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf.

Indians on Moving Day

T-6: Avani Prashanth – 68 (-8 total)
A confident round featuring five birdies and just a single dropped shot. The 18-year-old continues to build on a superb rookie season, showing maturity well beyond her years.

T-6: Aditi Ashok – 69 (-8 total)
Five birdies against two bogeys — another assured performance from the 2023 champion, who remains firmly in the mix for a top finish.

T-44: Pranavi Urs – 71 (+1 total)
Steady but still searching for a low round.

T-55: Hitaashee Bakshi – 70 (+3 total)
A strong bounce-back after a tough second day.

T-69: Diksha Dagar – 75 (+6 total)
A difficult scoring day left her further down the leaderboard.

A stacked group at T-6

Avani and Aditi are tied with
• Alessandra Fanali (Italy)
• Anna Huang
• Shannon Tan (Singapore)
• Mimi Rhodes (England)

Tan and Rhodes are battling head-to-head for the LET Order of Merit crown — adding even more weight to Sunday’s final groupings.

Cheenglab leads by three

Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab maintained her grip on the tournament, returning an even-par 72 to stay 15-under, three clear heading into the final round.

The 2023 LET Order of Merit winner mixed two birdies (7, 9) with late bogeys on 15 and 17, but her cushion remained intact.

France’s Perrine Delacour made a big charge with a superb 66, moving into solo second at -12, while compatriot Nastasia Nadaud sits third at -10.

With two Indians inside the top six and one round to go, Sunday promises a big finish for Indian women’s golf in Spain.
