Teenager Manoj S shoots 63 to lead Jaipur Open
Seventeen-year-old rookie Manoj S opened the Jaipur Open 2025 with a seven-under 63 to grab the first-round lead at Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur.
The Bengaluru teen, coming off six top-10s in his last eight PGTI starts, stayed in control all day—eight birdies against one bogey—then separated late by lighting up the back nine. Manoj made the turn at two-under before rolling in five birdies on his inward half, sparked by a hot putter that included three 20-footers and a 15-footer.
A four-man group sat one back in tied second at six-under 64: Shaurya Bhattacharya, Divyanshu Bajaj, Kushal Singh and Arjun Prasad.
PGTI Order of Merit leader Yuvraj Sandhu began with a five-under 65—highlighted by a run of five straight birdies—to sit tied sixth alongside Harsh Gangwar and Badal Hossain.
Manoj said he was comfortable on a course he’d seen in junior golf, and credited accurate tee shots (15 greens in regulation) and going four-for-four on the par-5s for his fast start.
Defending PGTI No. 1 Veer Ahlawat opened with a 67 in tied 12th. Jaipur’s Prakhar Asawa led the local charge with a four-under 68 to sit tied 19th.
