Pritish Singh Karayat takes five-shot lead at PGTI Q-School

Teenage amateur Pritish Singh Karayat surged into control of Pre-Qualifying II at the PGTI Qualifying School 2026, firing a 7-under 65 to take a five-shot lead after the opening round at Kensville Golf & Country Club, Ahmedabad.

The 17-year-old from Delhi Golf Club made eight birdies against one bogey, with a key moment coming at the 10th where he rolled in a 20-foot birdie putt to keep the momentum going.

“It was a solid round,” Karayat said. “My tee shots, iron-play and putting were top-notch.”

A four-way tie for second sits at 2-under 70, featuring Gurki Shergill, Divyansh Dubey, and amateurs Ayaan Gupta and Arindam Sudan.

Round two will determine whether Karayat can convert his early advantage into a place in the next stage of Q School.
