Ahlawat T28, Sharma scrapes cut at Magical Kenya Open

Veer Ahlawat and Shubhankar Sharma survived the halfway cut at the 2026 Magical Kenya Open, giving India representation deep into the DP World Tour event at Karen Country Club.

Ahlawat, fresh off a full 2025 campaign, blazed 67-67 for 6-under and T28—his second round featuring five birdies against two bogeys for steady positioning.

Sharma needed a scorching second-round 65 (six birdies, one bogey) to claw to 4-under and T55 on the cut line after a modest opener. Yuvraj Sandhu missed out with 69-71.

France’s Frederic Lacroix owned the spotlight with a brilliant 62—four birdies pre-turn, four post—to share 13-under lead with Casey Jarvis, two clear of the pack.

South Africa’s Hennie Du Plessis fired a stunning 61 (near course record under preferred lies) to join Spain’s Angel Ayora and Portugal’s Ricardo Gouveia in T3.

Lacroix built on his opening 65-eagle finish; Gouveia went bogey-free 65; Ayora racked seven birdies. “I’m feeling very good—putting and tee shots are dialed,” Ayora said.

Kenya’s Njoroge Kibugu thrilled home fans with a last-hole eagle to advance.
