Theegala returns at RBC Heritage as Indian-origin trio tee up

Sahith Theegala returns to action this week at the RBC Heritage, headlining a strong Indian-origin presence at the $20 million Signature event.

Theegala is joined by Akshay Bhatia and Sudarshan Yellamaraju at Harbour Town, with all three looking to make an impact in a stacked field.

For Theegala, the venue holds promise. He has a fifth-place finish (2023) and a runner-up result (2024) here, and arrives after a season that already includes four top-10s.

Bhatia, meanwhile, looks to bounce back after missing the cut at the Masters. His season remains highlighted by a win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, though recent results have been mixed.

Yellamaraju continues his steady rise and will be making his debut in a Signature event — another milestone in an impressive rookie season that already includes a top-five at The Players.

At the top of the field, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler arrives in form after a runner-up finish at the Masters, where he closed with a bogey-free weekend.

Masters champion Rory McIlroy is absent, but Cameron Young — the current FedExCup leader — adds star power after a run of consistent results, including a recent win at The Players.

Defending champion Justin Thomas returns, while Matt Fitzpatrick is another name to watch following his recent win at the Valspar Championship.

With form, course history and momentum all in play, Harbour Town sets up as another key week — especially for the Indian-origin trio looking to build on strong seasons.
