Diksha Dagar kept herself firmly in the title hunt at the MCB Ladies Classic Mauritius, following up her opening 68 with a composed, bogey-free 3-under 69 to reach 7-under after two rounds.
The two-time LET winner sits tied fourth, just two shots behind the trio of leaders—Smilla Tarning Soenderby, Celina Sattelkau and Casandra Alexander—who are all at 9-under heading into the final round.
Diksha’s round was built on control and consistency, with birdies on the 6th, 10th and 12th ensuring she stayed in touch with the leaders. “I’m hitting it well and staying patient,” she said. “The key is to keep giving myself chances.”
Three of the four Indians in the field made the cut. Hitaashee Bakshi (71-69) is tied 19th, while Tvesa Malik (70-71) sits tied 26th. Vani Kapoor missed out after rounds of 78 and 77.
Bakshi impressed with five birdies in her round, including a stretch of three in a row, though dropped shots on the 12th and 13th halted her progress. Malik mixed three birdies with two bogeys in a steady effort.
At the top, Denmark’s Soenderby started fast before settling for a 69, while Germany’s Sattelkau and South Africa’s Alexander both carded 67s to move into a share of the lead.
What it means: Diksha’s consistency has put her in a strong position heading into the final round, with a real chance to contend.
What’s next: With a tightly packed leaderboard and several players within striking distance, the final round promises a wide-open finish in Mauritius.
