The DP World PGTI will stage the inaugural Andhra Open from April 7–10 at East Point Golf Club in Visakhapatnam.
The event carries a prize purse of ₹1 crore and marks another step in expanding the Tour’s footprint across India.
A strong Indian field is expected, led by Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar, along with Veer Ahlawat, Om Prakash Chouhan, Manu Gandas and Angad Cheema. Ajeetesh Sandhu and Honey Baisoya are also in the field.
Sri Lanka’s N. Thangaraja, a past winner at the venue, headlines the international challenge. In total, 18 foreign players from nine countries will tee it up.
The local challenge will be led by Visakhapatnam-based professionals S. Muthu and Mohammed Rahman.
East Point Golf Club, one of India’s oldest golfing venues, has emerged as a key stop on the PGTI calendar. Redesigned into a championship course in 2021, it offers a demanding test with its tree-lined fairways and water hazards.
The tournament is supported by the East Point Golf Club and the Andhra Pradesh Golf Association.
With a competitive field and a growing golfing ecosystem in the region, the Andhra Open is set to become a key addition to the domestic calendar.
