Anvitha Narender takes lead as Tvesa Malik slips to second in Pune
Anvitha Narender moved into the lead after the second round of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at Oxford Golf Resort in Pune, as overnight leader Tvesa Malik slipped to second following a 2-over 74.
Narender followed her opening 71 with an even-par 72 to take a narrow advantage heading into the final round.
Malik, who had posted the only bogey-free round of the tournament on day one, endured a tougher outing on Wednesday. Despite making three birdies, she dropped shots with three bogeys and a double bogey to fall back from the top spot.
Riya Jadon climbed into third place with a steady even-par 72, while Nayanika Sanga (71) stayed in contention after a fast start that included three birdies in her opening seven holes.
Ketaki Sood (71), Shagun Narain (74) and amateur Priya Kumari (75) are tied fifth at 3-over 147.
Mannat Brar, one of only three players to finish under par on the second day, and Ridhima Dilawari (73) share eighth place.
Vani Kapoor, last season’s Hero Order of Merit winner, is part of a large group tied 10th after a second-round 73.
The day’s standout moment came from Durga Nittur, who recorded the first hole-in-one of the season by holing out on the par-3 14th from 140 yards.
The cut fell at 154, with 24 professionals and four amateurs advancing to the final round as Narender holds the inside track going into the closing day in Pune.
