Veer Ganapathy will join Trishul Chinnappa, Sunhit Bishnoi and Sudhir Sharma as the Bengaluru franchise prepares for the second AM Green IGPL season.
Teenager Veer Ganapathy will continue his development alongside three experienced professionals after being named in the Bengaluru Stallions squad for the 2026 AM Green Indian Golf Premier League.
Ganapathy, one of the emerging players from the league’s inaugural season, is the son of former All India Amateur and professional tour winner Rahul Ganapathy. Coached by his father, Veer was India’s leading junior until last year and will look to carry forward his family’s golfing legacy.
The GolfKonnekt-owned franchise unveiled its four-player squad and playing jersey ahead of the new season, which begins at Al Hamra Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, on September 23.
Former All India Amateur champion Trishul Chinnappa, Indian Tour winner Sunhit Bishnoi and seasoned professional Sudhir Sharma complete a line-up combining youth with experience.
The Bengaluru Stallions will host their home event at Karnataka Golf Association from December 1 to 5.
“Golf is an individual sport, and we are used to saying, ‘I want to be on top.’ Suddenly, we are saying, ‘We want to be on top,’” Chinnappa said. “I have started looking out for my teammates. It is a new feeling, and it is getting stronger.”
Bishnoi believes the league’s international schedule offers young Indian golfers valuable exposure to unfamiliar courses and conditions, without the heavy cost normally associated with competing overseas.
India’s first franchise-based professional golf league features 10 city teams across nine events. Each tournament is played over 54 holes, with the best two scores from each four-player team counting towards its daily total.
Alongside the professional competition, the IGPL conducts coaching programmes in schools and residential communities. Its tournament weeks also include pro-am events featuring professionals, juniors, amateurs and business leaders.
