Bhatia, Theegala eye big week at Pebble Beach’s $20M Signature Event

Akshay Bhatia and Sahith Theegala will headline the Indian-American interest at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the PGA TOUR’s first $20 million Signature Event of the 2026 season, starting February 12.

Bhatia arrives with momentum after a career-best tied-third finish at the WM Phoenix Open, a result that steadied his season after early stumbles and put him back in the conversation ahead of a high-stakes stretch.

Theegala comes in with mixed emotions after Phoenix, where a closing-hole bogey left him outside the Aon Swing 5 qualifiers for automatic entry into the first two Signature Events. He still got in at Pebble Beach via a sponsor exemption, keeping his strong early-season form moving into one of the year’s biggest weeks.

The format also offers opportunity: as a Signature Event, Pebble Beach features a limited field and no cut, guaranteeing four rounds and giving players room to build momentum across the week.

An elite 80-man field will compete for $20 million and 700 FedExCup points, with Rory McIlroy returning as defending champion and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler among the headliners at one of golf’s iconic venues.

With Pebble Beach’s coastal test often shaped by wind and execution around the greens, both Bhatia and Theegala have a clear target: turn recent form into a statement finish against the deepest field of the young season.
