Diksha Dagar produced a strong comeback to climb into tied 26th place after the third round of the Ford Women’s NSW Open in Australia.
After opening with a disappointing 77, the Indian star responded with back-to-back bogey-free rounds of 66 and 65 to move to 5-under for the tournament and put herself in position for a final-round push.
Diksha made five birdies in the second round to make the cut in 53rd place and then surged up the leaderboard with six birdies in round three. Her late charge included four birdies over the final five holes, extending her bogey-free streak across both rounds.
The other Indians in the field missed the cut. Hitaashee Bakshi carded rounds of 73-73, Pranavi Urs returned 74-74, while Avani Prashanth improved with a second-round 72 after an opening 80 but also failed to progress.
The tournament heads into the final round with a tightly packed leaderboard. Regional qualifier Hannah Reeves leads the field at 12-under par after producing a round of 66 that included six birdies. She holds a one-shot advantage over Australia’s Kelsey Bennett.
Thailand’s April Angurasaranee delivered one of the standout performances of the day with a sensational 9-under 62, which included a hole-in-one on the 170-yard par-3 12th. She sits tied third alongside France’s Agathe Laisne and Korea’s amateur Soomin Oh.
Six players are grouped at 8-under to round out the top-10 heading into the final day at Wollongong Golf Club.
