Eugenio Chacarra leads as Chouhan headlines Indian Challenge

Eugenio Chacarra moved into the lead after round two of the Hero Indian Open, while Om Prakash Chouhan emerged as the top Indian with the cut yet to be finalised.

The defending champion carded a 3-under 69 to reach 8-under for the week, taking a one-shot lead over Casey Jarvis heading into the weekend.

Chouhan shot a 1-under 71 to move to even par and sit tied 23rd, the best among the Indian contingent.

Youngster Manoj S also secured his place for the weekend with a 2-under 70, moving to 2-over overall and tied 41st in his first DP World Tour appearance.

With nearly 30 players yet to complete their rounds when play was suspended due to darkness, the cut will be confirmed on Saturday morning.

Chouhan recovered well after a slow start, picking up four birdies on the back nine before a late bogey saw him close at 71. It marks his first made cut at the Hero Indian Open since 2016.

Chacarra, meanwhile, overcame an uneven start with an eagle on the 18th and a strong front nine featuring four birdies to seize control.

Akshay Bhatia remained on the cut line with two holes left in his second round, while several Indians hovered just outside the projected mark.

With scoring tight and the cut still uncertain, the second round sets up a decisive Saturday morning at DLF.
