India will have a strong four-player presence at the inaugural MCB Ladies Classic Mauritius, with Diksha Dagar leading the charge alongside Tvesa Malik, Vani Kapoor and Hitaashee Bakshi at the scenic Legends Course.
Diksha, who is targeting a win at the Hero Women’s Indian Open this season, tees off at 7:20 am alongside Alessandra Fanali and Alexandra Försterling. Hitaashee Bakshi is grouped with Lianna Bailey and Gabriella Cowley for the opening two rounds.
Tvesa Malik, looking to regain her full playing status on tour, will play with Lilly May Humphreys and Bobbi Brown, while Vani Kapoor is paired with Corrine Viden and Chloe Williams.
Vani comes in with recent experience in Mauritius, having featured at the IGPL Invitational at the Anahita Course. Meanwhile, fellow LET regulars Pranavi Urs and Avani Prashanth have opted to skip the event for a short break.
Among the international field, England’s Esme Hamilton will be one to watch. Fresh off her maiden LET win at the Investec South African Women’s Open, she arrives in strong form and currently sits fourth on the Order of Merit.
“I’m excited to be here and looking to build on the momentum,” Hamilton said ahead of the event.
Hamilton tees off at 7:40 am local time alongside France’s Agathe Laisné and Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjäll.
The tournament features a field of 120 players competing over 54 holes at Constance Belle Mare Plage’s Legends Course, known for its tight fairways and testing greens.
What it means: A solid Indian contingent with experience and opportunity, led by Diksha, on a new LET stop.
What’s next: With no cut and a tight layout, consistency will be key as players look to make an early impact in Mauritius.
