India will have a three-player challenge at the Amundi German Masters this week as Pranavi Urs, Avani Prashanth and Vani Kapoor tee it up at the demanding Green Eagle Golf Courses in Hamburg.
The Ladies European Tour event, played on the intimidating North Course, is regarded as one of the toughest tests on the schedule with its narrow fairways, thick rough and long layout expected to place a premium on patience and precision.
Pranavi Urs arrives as the leading Indian hope after a steady rise on the LET over the past two seasons. The Mysuru golfer enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last year, highlighted by a tied-third finish at the Andalucía Open, and also finished tied-24th at the German Masters in 2024.
Known for her composed approach and consistency, Pranavi’s game appears well suited to the demanding conditions expected in Hamburg.
Experienced campaigner Vani Kapoor will also look to make an impact. One of the most successful players on the domestic circuit, Vani showed promise at this event last year when she climbed into the top 10 after the second round following a superb 70.
The Delhi golfer continues to push for a strong LET season and another good week could prove valuable in improving her playing opportunities on tour.
Avani Prashanth adds further excitement to the Indian challenge. The Bengaluru golfer, one of India’s brightest young prospects, turned professional after an outstanding amateur career that included representing India at the Asian Games and becoming the first Indian amateur to win on the LET Access Series.
Avani was forced to withdraw from last year’s German Masters because of a dental issue despite a promising start, but returns this week with greater experience at the international level.
Germany’s Esther Henseleit will be among the home favourites, while Denmark’s Smilla Tarning Soenderby also headlines a strong international field.
With a demanding setup and quality field, the week promises another important test for the Indian trio on the European stage.
