Pranavi Urs remained seven strokes off the lead without hitting a shot on Saturday after severe weather reduced the Ladies European Tour event to 54 holes.

Pranavi Urs remained in contention for a top-10 finish at the La Sella Open after heavy rain, thunder and lightning prevented her from beginning the third round in Denia, Spain.

The Hero-supported golfer reached four-under following rounds of 69 and 71 and will begin Sunday’s final round tied for eighth.

Urs was one of two Indians to make the cut. Avani Prashanth advanced with a long birdie putt at the 18th during her second round and was tied 49th. Diksha Dagar, Vani Kapoor and Hitaashee Bakshi missed the cut.

Saturday’s play was repeatedly disrupted before officials suspended proceedings because of unsafe conditions and the threat of further storms. The second round eventually resumed at 3pm, but the tournament was subsequently reduced from 72 to 54 holes. The third round will now serve as the finale.

England’s Charlotte Heath retained a commanding four-stroke lead without hitting a shot on Saturday. Her second-round 65 had lifted her to 11-under, with Australia’s Maddison Hinson-Tolchard and Poland’s Dorota Zalewska sharing second at seven-under.

Zalewska completed her delayed second round with a 68, highlighted by a long eagle putt at the second and another lengthy birdie conversion at the sixth.

Singapore’s Shannon Tan birdied the 16th and 17th after returning to complete her round, posting a second successive 69. She shared fourth at six-under with Alice Hewson and defending champion Helen Briem. Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjall held seventh, one stroke ahead of Urs.

Spain’s Carmen Alonso completed the final round of her 22-year LET career before retirement. She birdied the 18th with her 11-year-old nephew Lucas as her caddie before being welcomed by family, friends and fellow players.

Tournament organisers also confirmed a €1,400 payment for every player who missed the cut.
