Reed seals Qatar Masters title to continue dominant DP World Tour run

Patrick Reed capped a remarkable start to the season with victory at the Qatar Masters, holding off a late charge from Calum Hill and Oliver Lindell to win at Doha Golf Club.

The American finished at 16-under, securing his fifth DP World Tour title just a week after losing in a playoff at the Bahrain Championship. Reed, who won the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January, has now posted two wins and a runner-up finish in his last three starts.

Reed’s final day was far from straightforward. After leading by two overnight, he was briefly caught on the front nine as Lindell surged with six birdies in a chaotic opening stretch. The Finn even edged ahead before back-to-back three-putt bogeys opened the door.

Reed responded with key birdies at the 10th and 11th to regain control, then steadied himself over the closing holes as Hill emerged as the main threat.

Hill, beaten alongside Reed in last week’s Bahrain playoff, made a dramatic run with a chip-in eagle at the 10th and four straight birdies from the 14th to reach 14-under, just one back. But a wayward tee shot on the last left the Scot settling for par and a second straight runner-up finish.

Jacob Skov Olesen and Johannes Veerman shared third at 13-under, while Lindell faded into a tie for fifth after a costly double bogey on 15.

Reed closed with composed pars over the final two holes to complete another high-class week and strengthen his grip on the International Swing standings.
