Rory McIlroy may encounter a different course, climate and time zone every week, but one important part of his routine will now remain unchanged.
Under a new multi-year partnership with DP World, the Northern Irishman will travel with personalised fitness and recovery facilities across his PGA Tour and DP World Tour schedules. The arrangement is designed to give McIlroy the same training environment wherever he competes, including this week’s DP World India Championship at Delhi Golf Club.
Two customised trailers will move between tournaments during the season. Each will contain strength and cardiovascular equipment, an infrared sauna, a cold plunge and a Hyperice recovery station.
DP World will manage the entire operation, including collection, international transportation, customs clearance, storage and final delivery. With tournament schedules allowing little room for delays, the trailers will need to arrive ready for use before McIlroy begins his preparation each week.
“When you’re competing around the world, consistency really matters,” McIlroy said. “Having the same environment to train and recover in every week gives me and my team one less thing to think about and lets us focus on preparing and performing.”
The agreement offers a glimpse into the increasingly detailed preparation behind elite golf. While equipment discussions traditionally centre on clubs and balls, recovery, mobility and physical conditioning have become equally important during a long international season.

For McIlroy, the mobile set-up removes the need to depend on unfamiliar hotel gyms or locally available recovery facilities. It also gives his support team greater control over training loads and recovery between rounds.
The partnership makes McIlroy a global ambassador for DP World, which will also serve as his exclusive logistics and supply-chain partner.
“Applying our global scale, network and logistics expertise to help Rory perform at his best is a natural fit,” DP World Group CEO Yuvraj Narayan said. “It is a powerful way to show what a smart, end-to-end supply chain makes possible.”
The assignment involves more than transporting two trailers. DP World must coordinate shipping, customs, storage and delivery around fixed tournament dates while remaining prepared for changes in McIlroy’s schedule.
The collaboration expands DP World’s sporting portfolio, which already includes the DP World Tour, Ryder Cup, Formula One, cricket, sailing and motorsport partnerships.
Its first major Indian showcase comes at the US$4 million DP World India Championship from October 15 to 18. McIlroy headlines a field containing seven Major champions, including defending champion Tommy Fleetwood, Ryan Fox, Aaron Rai, Justin Rose and Shane Lowry.
The surroundings and course may change in Delhi, but the work behind McIlroy’s performance will continue in a familiar setting.
