Shiv Kapur remained firmly on course for his maiden IGPL title after a three-under 69 gave him a three-shot lead heading into the final round of the AM Green IGPL Invitational in Ras Al Khaimah.

Kapur, who opened with a course-record-equalling 62, moved to 13-under after 36 holes at Al Hamra Golf Club. His performance also helped RVR Delhi Blue Bulls join Auro Goa Eagles at the top of the team standings on 17-under.

Varun Chopra led Auro Goa’s challenge with a four-under 68. The American, who began the week with a 66, reached 10-under to occupy second place, three behind Kapur.

Veer Ganapathy of GolfKonnekt Bengaluru Stallions remained in contention after rounds of 69 and 70. He shared third place at five-under with Gaganjeet Bhullar (69-70) and Varun Parikh (66-73).

Kapur began his second round with birdies on the second and third before adding another on the seventh. His first bogey of the tournament came on the ninth, ending a run of 26 holes without a dropped shot.

He picked up further strokes on the 13th, 14th and 18th while dropping shots on the 12th and 16th to complete his 69.

Sachin Baisoya (72-68) and Shaurya Binu (67-73) were next at four-under, while Trishul Chinnappa (73-68) and Kanav Chauhan (70-71) reached three-under. Aryan Roopa Anand, Tushar Pannu (68-74) and debutant Ravi Kumar (66-76) were among those at two-under.

The team competition remains tightly poised. Kapur has led the scoring for RVR Delhi Blue Bulls, whose other members are Aryan Roopa Anand, Chiragh Kumar and Gaurav Ghei.

Chopra has been the standout performer for Auro Goa Eagles, supported by Kanav Chauhan, Saarthak Chibber and IL Aalaap.

Flying Man Kolkata occupied third place in the team standings, with Varun Parikh leading a line-up that also includes Kartik Sharma, Sukhman Singh and Syed Saqib Ahmed.
