Shubhankar Sharma finishes T-57 at Joburg Open as Bradbury wins

Shubhankar Sharma closed with a 2-over 72 to finish tied 57th at the Joburg Open, ending the week at 1-under after rounds of 66-72-69-72.

The Indian began the final round on a positive note with a birdie on the opening hole and added another at the eighth to reach 1-under at the turn. However, the back nine proved tougher as three bogeys between the 13th and 16th holes pushed him back on the leaderboard.

Despite the challenging finish, the Joburg Open continues to be a familiar venue for Sharma. He has now made the cut in four of his five appearances at the event and famously claimed his maiden DP World Tour title here in 2017.

At the top of the leaderboard, England’s Dan Bradbury produced a strong final-round charge to secure victory. Bradbury carded a 5-under 65 to finish at 17-under for the week and claim his third DP World Tour title.

Starting the day three shots behind Hennie Du Plessis, Bradbury surged ahead with a flawless back nine that included four birdies. A birdie on the 17th effectively sealed the win before he closed with a par on the final hole.

Du Plessis’ challenge faded late after a bogey on the 15th and a double bogey on the 16th, while Casey Jarvis and Brandon Robinson Thompson also fell short after dropping shots in the closing stretch.

Bradbury’s final round featured seven birdies and two bogeys, both on the front nine, as he completed an impressive comeback victory in Johannesburg.
