Vani Kapoor relied on her experience to defeat rookie Anvvi Dahhiya in a three-hole playoff and win the 13th leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram.

The victory was Vani’s second of the season and added another title to her record as the most prolific winner in Hero WPGT history. The tournament carried a prize purse of INR 17 lakh.

Vani began the final round one shot behind Anvvi but moved ahead with a strong front nine. She made three birdies against one bogey to turn in two-under, while Anvvi had two birdies and three bogeys over the same stretch.

That represented a three-shot swing and gave Vani a two-stroke advantage at the turn.

Anvvi responded impressively on the back nine, making three birdies against two bogeys. Vani failed to add another birdie and dropped one shot, allowing the 18-year-old to draw level.

Vani signed for a one-under 71 and Anvvi returned an even-par 72 as the pair finished tied at one-over 217 after 54 holes.

The first two playoff holes failed to separate them before Vani finally prevailed on the third extra hole, leaving Anvvi to settle for runner-up honours.

Scoring remained difficult on the final day. Vani and Saanvi Somu were the only players to break par, while Anvvi was the only other player to shoot par or better. Across the tournament, just five sub-par rounds were recorded, with no player managing more than one.

Hero Order of Merit leader Ridhima Dilawari closed with a 74 to finish third. Nayanika Sanga also shot a 74 and placed fourth at 222.

Jasmine Shekar and Tvesa Malik shared fifth place, while Saanvi and Mannat Brar tied for seventh. Lavanya Jadon finished ninth.

Amateur Anuradha Chaudhuri, Kashika Misra and first-round leader Vidhatri Urs shared 10th place.

Ridhima retained her lead in the Hero Order of Merit, with Vani moving into second place and Jasmine occupying third.

The leading Indian players will return to DLF Golf and Country Club next month for the Hero Women’s Indian Open.
