YouTube star Grant Horvat joins Takomo Golf
In a groundbreaking move, Finnish golf equipment maker Takomo Golf has partnered with YouTube sensation Grant Horvat. The 26-year-old, who played collegiate golf at Palm Beach Atlantic University, is now an equity partner in the direct-to-consumer brand. Known for its online sales and affordable prices, Takomo skips traditional retail and tour sponsorships, relying instead on influencers and social media to grow its presence.
Horvat, with nearly a million YouTube subscribers, brings a massive audience to Takomo. His engaging content, including matches against golf icons and collaborations with creators like Bob Does Sports, often garners millions of views. Unlike PGA or LPGA Tour pros, who are limited to televised events, Horvat’s videos are available 24/7, making him a perfect fit for Takomo’s strategy.
Horvat will continue using TaylorMade drivers, fairway woods, and balls, brands he’s endorsed since 2021, while switching to Takomo’s irons, wedges, and putters. His influence is expected to showcase Takomo’s high-quality, affordable clubs, like the $489 101 irons and $649 301 CB irons, to a younger, tech-savvy audience.
For Takomo, signing Horvat is a savvy move. His skill and credibility as a golfer bring legitimacy to the brand, while his vast reach amplifies their message far beyond what most tour sponsorships can achieve. As Takomo disrupts the traditional golf market, this partnership could mark a turning point in its journey from niche innovator to mainstream contender.
