11 Indians in Jakarta International Championship field

An 11-strong Indian contingent will tee off at the inaugural Jakarta International Championship from Oct 2–5 at Damai Indah Golf’s PIK Course, part of The International Series on the Asian Tour.

Leading the team is 37-year-old Gaganjeet Bhullar, a five-time winner in Indonesia and currently India’s most successful golfer on the Asian Tour with 11 titles. Bhullar, who represented India at the Paris Olympics last year, has been consistent this season with four cuts in as many International Series starts. His record includes three Indonesia Opens and the 2023 Indonesian Masters, where he beat compatriot Karandeep Kochhar, who also returns this week.

Joining them are Khalin Joshi, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Rahil Gangjee, Rashid Khan, Chikkarangappa S., Shiv Kapur, Viraj Madappa, S.S.P. Chawrasia, and Yuvraj Sandhu — making it one of the strongest line-ups India has sent to an International Series event.

Kochhar, runner-up to Bhullar last year in Jakarta, has shown steady form with a recent runner-up on the Asian Development Tour in Morocco.

The field also includes global names like Anthony Kim, the former PGA Tour star now chasing a LIV Golf return, adding further international flavour to the $2mn event.
