13 Indians at Asian Tour Final Qualifier
The Asian Tour Qualifying Final Stage is set to tee off this week from December 17-21 in Hua Hin, Thailand, with a field of 208 golfers vying for their 2024 playing rights. Among them are 13 Indian professionals, eager to secure their spot on one of the continent’s most competitive circuits.
For those who make the cut, the rewards are substantial—access to some of the Asian Tour’s marquee million-dollar tournaments scattered across the region. For others, missing out could mean a return to the domestic circuit or second-tier Asian Tour events in the coming year.
Seven of the Indian contingent have earned direct entry to the Final Qualifier, riding on the strength of their performances earlier in 2024. Meanwhile, six others have fought their way through grueling pre-qualifier tournaments held over the past fortnight in Thailand, demonstrating the depth of India’s golfing talent.
The stakes couldn’t be higher. The grueling tournament begins with 72 holes that will trim the 208-strong field to just 70 players. The top contenders will then battle it out in a decisive fifth and final round, where the top 35 will earn their official ranking for the 2025 season.
The Asian Tour Qualifying Final has long been a springboard for rising stars in the sport, and this year’s edition promises to be no different. For the Indian players in particular, it’s a chance to etch their names among the region’s elite while carrying the aspirations of a growing golf community back home.
As the week unfolds in Hua Hin, all eyes will be on the leaderboard to see which of these talented Indians can weather the pressure and take their place in the upper echelons of Asian golf.
