The DP World PGTI breaks new ground this week with the inaugural Boulders Classic in Hyderabad.
The ₹1 crore event will be staged at Boulder Hills Golf & Country Club from April 14–17, marking the Tour’s first visit to the venue.
A strong field of 132 professionals, including leading Indian and international names, is set to tee it up in what promises to be one of the most competitive events of the season.
Shubhankar Sharma and Yuvraj Sandhu headline the field, alongside Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar, Veer Ahlawat and Om Prakash Chouhan.
Sri Lanka’s N. Thangaraja leads the overseas challenge, with 20 foreign players from 10 countries in the mix.
The tournament begins with a Pro-Am on Sunday, followed by the main competition from Tuesday to Friday.
“This is a landmark addition to the PGTI calendar,” said Kapil Dev. “Bringing a professional event to Boulder Hills for the first time reflects our commitment to exploring new venues and creating more opportunities for our players.”
The venue itself is expected to be a key talking point.
“Boulder Hills offers a challenging and visually stunning layout that will test the skills of our players,” said PGTI CEO Amandeep Johl.
From the host’s perspective, the event signals a larger ambition.
“We believe such tournaments will help position Hyderabad as a key hub for professional golf in India,” said Dr. NRN Reddy of TGolf Alliance.
With a new venue, a strong field and high stakes, the Boulders Classic adds fresh momentum to the domestic calendar — and a new test for India’s best.
