Pranavi Urs held her nerve to make the cut at the Joburg Ladies Open, emerging as the only Indian to advance to the weekend at Randpark Golf Club.
After an opening 3-under 70, Pranavi added a 1-over 74 to finish right on the cutline at even-par, sitting T-52.
Her second round was a grind. She was 1-under through the front nine but slipped on the back with four bogeys against two birdies. A bogey on her final hole left her fate uncertain, but she scraped through by the narrowest margin.
The rest of the Indian contingent missed out. Tvesa Malik and Diksha Dagar both fell short by one shot (72-73), while Avani Prashanth (75-74) and Hitaashee Bakshi (77-74) finished further back.
At the top, Celine Herbin and Brianna Navarrosa share the lead at 11-under after two rounds.
Herbin set the tone early with a 6-under 67, racing out with five birdies in her first seven holes before adding gains on the 14th and 18th.
Camille Chevalier sits one back at 10-under after a bogey-free 66, one of the standout rounds of the week.
Weather disruptions impacted play, with darkness leaving 15 players to complete their rounds the following morning.
What it means: Pranavi keeps India’s hopes alive, but will need a move up the board over the weekend.
What’s next: With the leaders pulling clear, scoring low will be essential to climb into contention.
