Asian Tour: Anirban Lahiri best Indian finisher in Qatar
36-year-old Anirban Lahiri, a former PGA Tour player and two-time Olympian, showcased his class at the US$2.5 million International Series Qatar, carding rounds of 69-73-68-70 for an impressive 8-under total. The performance earned the LIV Golf star, who plays for Crushers GC under captain Bryson DeChambeau, a tied-5th place finish in the Asian Tour event.
This marked Lahiri’s best result in four International Series appearances this season, further solidifying his presence on the Asian Tour, which has become a key platform for LIV golfers to compete for Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points. With LIV Golf events currently ineligible for OWGR points, the International Series serves as a critical avenue for players to maintain their standings.
In 2024, Lahiri competed in 13 individual events on the LIV Golf Tour, highlighted by a runner-up finish in Spain and three additional top-10 finishes. His consistent performances earned him a 16th-place finish in the season rankings, securing his LIV Golf card for a fourth consecutive season.
