Bhullar tied for lead in Jakarta

India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar remained in the hunt for another title in Indonesia after a steady one-under 69 in the third round of the Jakarta International Championship at Damai Indah Golf’s PIK Course.

The 37-year-old, who owns five Asian Tour wins in Indonesia including the 2023 BNI Indonesian Masters, is tied at the top with Australia’s Wade Ormsby (67) and Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent (62), the recent International Series Morocco champion.

Bhullar mixed four birdies with a costly double bogey at the par-four ninth, despite finding the fairway off the tee. “That was the one blemish today,” he said. “But I’ve been hitting a lot of fairways and giving myself birdie chances. It was windy on the back nine, so we had to adjust strategy.”

Just one shot back are Thailand’s Sadom Kaewkanjana (64) and Poom Saksansin (66), while compatriot Pavit Tangkamolprasert, England’s Steve Lewton and Italy’s Stefano Mazzoli sit at nine under.

Japan’s Kazuki Higa, winner of back-to-back events last month, posted a 67 to stay four behind, keeping alive hopes of a historic third consecutive Asian Tour victory.

The tournament is the fifth of nine events on The International Series, which offers a pathway to the LIV Golf League via the season-long rankings.
