Creator Classic: Horvat rises to the moment
On the eve of The Players Championship, where the world’s best prepare to battle, YouTube sensation Grant Horvat delivered a clutch performance to claim the Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass. Competing against nine of golf’s biggest content creators, Horvat showcased nerves of steel, emerging victorious in a playoff under the bright lights of television cameras.
The event unfolded on the iconic back nine of TPC Sawgrass, with ten players—each bringing their own mix of skill and showmanship—vying for supremacy. Over eight holes, Horvat carded a one-over 33, finishing level with George Bryan IV of “Bryan Bros Golf,” while Chris Solomon of “No Laying Up” trailed by a single stroke in third.
With only three players advancing to the sudden-death showdown at the legendary par-three 17th, the stage was set for high drama. Horvat seized the moment, draining a 15-foot birdie putt to edge out Bryan and Solomon, securing a hard-earned win.
“At the beginning of the day, that was the most nervous I’ve ever been,” Horvat admitted post-round. “I think today I kind of proved something to myself—that I can handle the nerves. In the past, I’ve gotten so tight and guided it, but today I was actually swinging freely. It was awesome.”
Beyond the playoff fireworks, the event delivered plenty of memorable moments. Roger Steele posted a three-over finish to take fourth, while Nick “Fat Perez” Stubbe provided a nod to history, holing a 50-foot bomb from the back of the 17th green—evoking shades of Tiger Woods’ iconic “better than most” putt from 2001.
For Horvat, the victory wasn’t just about the title—it was about proving he belongs under pressure. And on one of golf’s most famous stages, he did just that.
