Elvira seals third DP World Tour title in Dubai

Nacho Elvira held his nerve on a chaotic Sunday to win the 2026 Dubai Invitational, sealing his third DP World Tour title at Dubai Creek Resort after a final round that briefly had five players tied for the lead.

Elvira, the overnight leader, looked set to run away with it when he moved three clear with his third birdie of the day at the seventh. But back-to-back bogeys late on the front nine opened the door, and the leaderboard compressed quickly. Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Daniel Hillier and Marcus Armitage all reached nine under, joining Elvira at the top down the closing stretch.

Lowry made his push with a birdie at 15, then swung out of contention with a double bogey at the last.

Hillier posted the target at nine under, but Elvira reclaimed control with a birdie at 17 to take a one-shot lead to the 18th, then closed with a steady par to finish it.

McIlroy’s round ran in waves — two early dropped shots had him off the pace before five straight birdies from the ninth dragged him back into a share of the lead. A closing bogey at 18 left him tied for third.

Hillier finished second, with Lowry and McIlroy tied third. Matt Wallace signed for 68 to end the week T-7.
