Gujarat Open: Gandas & Sandhu lead the charge in tight race
Chandigarh’s Yuvraj Sandhu, winner of last week’s PGTI season-opener, and Gurugram’s Manu Gandas have taken a two-shot lead at the halfway stage of the INR 1 crore Glade One presents Gujarat Open 2025, held at Glade One Golf Resort & Club, Ahmedabad.
Yuvraj (32-34) and Manu (31-35), a past champion at Glade One, both sit atop the leaderboard at six-under 66, having carded second-round scores of 34 and 35, respectively.
Greater Noida’s Saptak Talwar (34-34) maintained steady form, firing a second consecutive 34 to secure solo third place at four-under 68.
Defending champion Abhinav Lohan (36) and Ahmedabad’s Varun Parikh (34) wrapped up the day tied for 10th place at two-under 70.
With the first two rounds consisting of nine holes each, the cut was applied at even-par 72 after 18 holes on Wednesday, allowing 52 professionals to advance. The final two rounds will now shift to 18 holes each, bringing the tournament total to 54 holes. While the first two rounds played to a par of 36, the third and fourth rounds will be set at par 72.
Yuvraj Sandhu moved into the joint lead with two birdies on day two, climbing one spot from his overnight position. Meanwhile, overnight leader Manu Gandas kept his place at the top, carding two birdies against a single bogey to remain in contention for another victory at a venue he knows well.
