Hero Women’s Indian Open 2025 returns with bigger purse
The Hero Women’s Indian Open (HWIO), South Asia’s flagship women’s event, will be staged from October 9–12, 2025 at DLF Golf & Country Club, Gurugram. The tournament, part of the Ladies European Tour (LET), will see its prize purse rise to US$500,000, with the winner earning US$75,000.
Diksha Dagar, who finished third on the 2023 LET rankings, will spearhead the home challenge. She is joined by a strong group of Indians including Amandeep Drall, runner-up in 2022, and several LET regulars such as Avani Prashanth and Pranavi Urs. Aditi Ashok remains the only Indian winner of the event, having triumphed in 2016.
The HWIO arrives at a crucial point in the LET calendar, as players fight to secure season-ending spots. “The Hero Women’s Indian Open reflects our commitment to growing sport and women’s participation,” said Sanjay Bhan, EVP, Hero MotoCorp.
The defending champion, England’s Liz Young, and 2025 Order of Merit leader Mimi Rhodes are among the early entries, alongside past LET No.1s Chiara Tamburlini and Trichat Cheenglab.
With DLF hosting for the 15th time, the venue reinforces its tag as the ‘Home of Indian women’s golf.’ Entry for fans will be free, with practice rounds on Oct. 7-8 and the tournament from Oct. 9-12.
