Hitaashee Bakshi shines again with solid finish in Taipei

India’s Hitaashee Bakshi continued her impressive run on the international circuit, finishing T-21 at the Wistron Ladies Open, an event shortened to 36 holes due to rain at the Sunrise Golf and Country Club.

Hitaashee, who has shown remarkable consistency in recent weeks, opened with a superb 4-under 68 to sit inside the Top 3 after Round 1. Completing her first round alongside eventual champion Yani Tseng, the five-time major winner and former World No.1, was both a challenge and an education for the young Indian, who has been steadily building her credentials on the Ladies European Tour.

Her second round of even-par 72 saw her finish at 4-under 140, highlighted by strong recovery play and clutch birdies on the back nine, including a closing birdie on the 18th. Despite a few missed opportunities early in the round, Bakshi’s composure under pressure once again stood out — following her Top-3 finish at the Hero Women’s Indian Open just two weeks earlier.

Reflecting her growing maturity and rhythm, the performance reinforced Bakshi’s reputation as one of India’s most promising young professionals.

Among other Indians in the field, Pranavi Urs (70) finished T-67, Tvesa Malik (71) was T-75, and Avani Prashanth (72) ended T-98.

For Hitaashee, playing alongside legends like Tseng and continuing to post consistent results on the international stage, the week was another encouraging step toward bigger breakthroughs ahead.
