Jhared Hack tops Pre-Q III in Ahmedabad
American Jhared Hack leaned on experience and patience to claim a three-shot win at Pre-Qualifying III of the PGTI Qualifying School 2026, closing with a composed, bogey-free 4-under 68 at Kensville Golf & Country Club, Ahmedabad.
The 36-year-old Las Vegas resident, playing his first competitive golf in India, followed an opening 70 with a cleaner second round to finish at 6-under 138, moving up two spots on the final day. Hack made just one birdie on his front nine before finding momentum late, rolling in three birdies over his final four holes, capped by a 40-foot conversion on the 18th.
“Coming such a long way from the United States, I made sure I arrived early and got comfortable,” Hack said. “I was fortunate to get some practice in around Ahmedabad and even stay with a local pro. That helped me stay relaxed. Today, my chipping and putting really carried me through.”
Hack’s win continues a journeyman career that has taken him across multiple tours, including stints on the Korn Ferry Tour, PGA Tour Latinoamérica, and the Canadian Tour—experience that showed when pressure built late.
From a field of 132, the top 26 advanced to the Final Qualifying Stage, with the cut set at 5-over 149. Japan’s Taiga Tanaka finished second at 3-under 141, Canada’s Sukhraj Singh Gill was third at 2-under 142, while India’s best came from amateur Samarpratap Singh Sandhu, fifth at even-par 144.
Hack now moves on to the Final Stage (Jan 27–30), where full PGTI status for 2026 will be decided.
