Joaquin Niemann confirms participation in International Series India

Joaquin Niemann, the reigning International Series Rankings champion, is set to headline the International Series India presented by DLF, a US$2 million tournament taking place from January 30 to February 2 at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram.

The Chilean star, who captains the Torque GC team in the LIV Golf League, will join defending US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau and India’s Anirban Lahiri, making this a highly anticipated event for golf fans. This marks the first time the LIV Golf-backed International Series will debut in India.

Niemann enjoyed a stellar 2024 season, finishing as runner-up in the LIV Golf League individual standings. He clinched victories in Mayakoba and Jeddah and secured multiple top-three finishes, narrowly missing out to Jon Rahm. His season culminated in a dramatic win at the US$5 million PIF Saudi International, where he triumphed in a playoff against Cam Smith and Caleb Surratt. A third-place finish in Oman helped secure his place atop the International Series Rankings.

The International Series India is the first of 10 events in the 2024 season, which includes stops in Macau, Morocco, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia, with more locations to be announced. This series offers a pathway to the LIV Golf League, with the season’s top-ranked player earning an automatic spot and additional opportunities through the LIV Golf Promotions event.

With a stellar lineup and the iconic Gurugram course as the backdrop, the International Series India promises to deliver world-class golf and unforgettable moments for fans. All eyes will be on Niemann, DeChambeau and Lahiri as they vie for the title.
