Joshi and Ahlawat blaze 63s to share lead at TATA Open season finale
Khalin Joshi and Veer Ahlawat shared the opening-day lead at the TATA Open 2025, the INR 2 crore PGTI season finale, with matching seven-under 63s at Golmuri Golf Club in Jamshedpur. The event is being played across Beldih and Golmuri, with half the field at each course on day one and venues switching for round two.
Round one could not be completed on Thursday, with 10 of 126 players set to finish early Friday after play was halted due to fading light. Bangladesh’s Md Siddikur Rahman was third in the clubhouse with a six-under 64 at Golmuri.
Ahlawat, a two-time winner this year and last season’s champion in Jamshedpur at the TATA Steel Tour Championship, carded eight birdies against a lone bogey to grab a share of the lead. He said his familiarity with both courses and strong driving and putting were key, adding that a five- or six-under at Beldih in round two would keep him well placed at halfway.
Joshi also mixed eight birdies with one bogey to join Veer at the top and underlined how quickly adapting to the greens will be crucial this week, particularly on putts inside five feet. The former Asian Tour winner arrived in form after earning Asian Development Tour playing rights for 2026 at last week’s Asian Tour Qualifying School in Thailand, adding extra momentum to his season-closing push.
