Khalin Joshi takes one-shot lead at Andhra Open

Khalin Joshi moved into the lead with a second straight 3-under 68 at the Andhra Open.

The Bengaluru-based former Asian Tour winner sits at 6-under 136, one shot clear of overnight leader Dhruv Sheoran at East Point Golf Club.

Joshi kept things steady in testing, windy conditions, mixing four birdies with a lone bogey on the final hole to edge ahead.

Sheoran, who had led after round one, slipped to second at 5-under 137 following a 70. He looked set to extend his lead after opening with an eagle and building a three-shot cushion, but back-to-back bogeys on 16 and 17 halted his charge.

Chikkarangappa S. is third at 4-under 138 after another 70.

A group of six players — including Viraj Madappa, the youngest Indian winner on the Asian Tour and Sri Lanka’s N. Thangaraja — are tied fourth at 2-under 140.

With the cut falling at 6-over, 52 players advanced to the weekend, setting up a tight contest heading into the final two rounds.
