LET Q-School: Amandeep, Avani lead Indian charge in Morocco
In a stellar start to the LET Qualifying School Final Stage in Morocco, 32-year-old Amandeep Drall of Panchkula, a multiple-time winner on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (Hero WPGT), and rising star 18-year-old Avani Prashanth, a former top-ranked Indian amateur and Ladies European Tour Access Series (LETAS) winner, carded matching rounds of 3-under par to finish the opening day tied for 13th place.
Drall posted a solid 3-under 70 at the Al Maaden Golf Marrakech, while Prashanth delivered an equally impressive 3-under 69 at Royal Golf Marrakech, showcasing their poise on the big stage. Both players secured their spots in the Final Stage after advancing from the Pre-Qualifier held at Rotana Golf Club, where Drall finished 2-under and Prashanth overcame a tough field with a 1-over performance across 54 holes.
Joining the Indian contingent in Morocco is the experienced Vani Kapoor, who earned a direct exemption to the Final Stage thanks to her top-135 finish on the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit. Kapoor carded an even-par 72 at Royal Golf Marrakech, placing her in a tie for 56th alongside Sneha Singh, who also posted an even-par opening round. Singh had previously qualified for the Final Stage with a T-4th finish at 2-over in the Pre-Qualifier held at Noria Golf Club.

Meanwhile, Hitaashee Bakshi, the Hero WPGT’s top-ranked player for the season, struggled in her opening round at Al Maaden, posting a 76 to sit in a tie for 108th. Vidhatri Urs, another promising talent who advanced from the Samanah Golf Club Pre-Qualifier, where she tied for 14th, opened her campaign with a challenging 4-over 77, leaving her in T-123rd.
The Final Stage, a grueling 90-hole test spread across two courses—Al Maaden Golf Marrakech (par-73) and Royal Golf Marrakech (par-72)—features 154 players vying for a coveted spot on the Ladies European Tour. With only the top 20 players and ties securing full playing rights in Category 12, the stakes couldn’t be higher as the competition intensifies in Marrakech.
