LIV Golf Promotions: Bhullar shoots 67 to advance
At 36, Gaganjeet Bhullar’s passion for the game remains unwavering. With 11 Asian Tour titles to his name—a record that highlights his skill and dedication—the Indian golf star is chasing one of the biggest opportunities of his career.
This week, Bhullar teed off at Riyadh Golf Club in the LIV Golf Promotions event. His goal? To secure a spot in the exclusive 2025 LIV Golf League. Bhullar started strong, carding a solid 4-under 67 in the opening round. The score was just enough to make the cut and advance to the second stage, keeping his dream alive. Out of 64 players who started the qualifier, only 21 advanced to join 28 exempt players in Round 2.

The competition now heats up. The leaderboard resets on Friday, and the top 20 players—no ties—will progress to Saturday’s 36-hole final round. The stakes are high: the winner secures a guaranteed spot in the 2025 LIV Golf League, while the top 10 and ties earn exemptions to all International Series events next year.

For Bhullar, this event is more than just another tournament. It’s a shot at redemption. In last year’s Promotions event, he came close but fell short, finishing T-14 and missing out on the main tour. That setback has fueled his determination. To stay focused, Bhullar has stepped away from social media, removing distractions to fully commit to his game.
Bhullar still has three rounds ahead of him, but the potential reward is transformative. A spot in the LIV Golf League would make him only the second Indian golfer, after Anirban Lahiri, to join the tour. Lahiri, a key player for Crushers GC led by two-time U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, has already made his mark. Bhullar now has the chance to follow suit and bring Indian golf to a new global audience.
