Pranavi Urs finishes as top Indian at Aramco China Championship

Pranavi Urs finished as the leading Indian at the Aramco China Championship, signing off with a 2-under 71 in the final round at Mission Hills, China.

Pranavi closed the week at five-under-par 214 with rounds of 73-70-71 to end tied 31st. She was the only Indian to finish under par for the tournament.

Diksha Dagar, the other Indian to make the cut, returned a 3-over 76 on the final day and finished tied 56th at one-under for the week with rounds of 72-70-76.

Pranavi’s final round was a strong fightback. After two early bogeys in her first four holes, she responded with four birdies in a five-hole stretch to turn in two-under for the front nine. On the back nine, she mixed one bogey with a closing birdie to complete a solid 71.

Dagar started her final round promisingly with a birdie on the third, but back-to-back bogeys on the seventh and eighth, followed by further dropped shots on the 11th and 13th, left her with her only over-par card of the week.

At the top, Chinese star Ruixin Liu claimed the title with a bogey-free 5-under 68 to finish at 16-under-par (70-65-68), winning by three shots. Overnight leader Trichat Cheenglab slipped to a one-under 72 but still finished tied second at 13-under alongside Chiara Tamburlini, Liqi Zeng and Qianhui Lin.

Order of Merit leader Shannon Tan placed tied 23rd at seven under, while Mimi Rhodes, second on the list, finished tied 13th at nine under.
