Pranavi Urs closed with a 1-under 72 to finish T-36 at the Joburg Ladies Open, ending as the lone Indian to make the cut at Randpark Golf Club.
Her final round had its moments, including a standout four-hole stretch early on — par, birdie, eagle, bogey — as she signed off with two birdies, an eagle and three bogeys.
The rest of the Indian contingent — Diksha Dagar, Tvesa Malik, Avani Prashanth and Hitaashee Bakshi — missed the cut earlier in the week.
At the top, Agathe Laisne claimed her second LET title of the season after a dramatic playoff victory over Australia’s Kirsten Rudgeley.
Laisne, Rudgeley and South Africa’s Casandra Alexander finished tied at 19-under, forcing a playoff on the 18th. Alexander dropped out on the first extra hole after failing to match the birdies of the other two.
What followed was a tense duel in fading light. Rudgeley came closest early, narrowly missing a seven-footer for the win on the third playoff hole.
With daylight running out, the 18th was shortened to a 78-yard pitch for the decisive moment. Laisne delivered under pressure, hitting to 10 feet and converting the birdie, while Rudgeley missed from eight feet.
The win marks Laisne’s second title in two months, following her triumph at the NSW Open.
Celine Herbin finished fourth at 16-under, with Cara Gainer and Pia Babnik sharing fifth at 15-under.
What it means: Pranavi keeps India on the board, while Laisne continues a red-hot run on the LET.
What’s next: The LET heads to Cape Town for the Investec SA Women’s Open.
