Shubhankar Sharma in the hunt after round four at DP World Tour Q-School
Shubhankar Sharma moved into contention at the Final Stage of DP World Tour Qualifying School, finishing the fourth round tied sixth at INFINITUM in Spain.
With rounds of 70-69-66-67, Sharma sits at 14-under-par, eight shots behind leader Zander Lombard, with two rounds still to play in the six-round marathon that decides 2026 DP World Tour cards.
South African Lombard took a major step toward securing full playing rights, backing up his shared overnight lead with a superb 7-under 64 on the Lakes Course to reach 22-under and open up a six-shot cushion. Australia’s Connor McKinney is solo second at 16-under after a 67, while Frenchman Quentin Debove, Zimbabwe’s Benjamin Follett-Smith and Englishman Matthew Baldwin are tied third at 15-under. Debove produced the round of the day with an 8-under 63.
Sharma is part of a group of five players tied sixth at 14-under alongside Canadian Aaron Cockerill, England’s Nathan Kimsey, Denmark’s Hamish Brown and American Davis Bryant. In all, 60 players made the 72-hole cut; after six rounds, the leading 20 and ties will earn DP World Tour playing privileges (Category 18) for 2026.
The week marks an important chapter in Sharma’s career. Once ranked as high as 64th in the world and already a two-time DP World Tour winner, the 29-year-old endured a difficult 2025 season, missing 17 consecutive cuts after the Hero Indian Open and ultimately losing his card. He has admitted to struggling with equipment changes this year and is still searching for the right setup.
For now, his form at Q-School suggests progress — but with 36 holes to go, the real test is still ahead.
