Shubhankar Sharma returned to winning ways in dominant fashion, closing with a 5-under 67 to win the Boulders Classic by eight shots in Hyderabad.
The 29-year-old finished at a record 25-under 263 (66-66-64-67), setting the lowest aggregate score in DP World PGTI history and sealing his seventh title on the tour.
It was his first PGTI win since 2017 and his first professional victory worldwide in over eight years, dating back to the 2018 Maybank Championship.
Sharma began the final round with a seven-shot cushion and never allowed the field back in, mixing six birdies with a lone bogey to close out a commanding week.
“I stuck to my game plan throughout,” Sharma said. “Even when I dropped a shot, I bounced back quickly and kept attacking.”
He added: “Even with the lead, I didn’t think about easing off. Golf can change quickly, so I kept pushing.”
A chip-in on the second proved an early spark. “That was probably my best shot of the day,” he said. “It gave me a nice boost.”
Mohd Azhar (65), Rashid Khan (68) and Angad Cheema (68) shared second at 17-under 271, eight shots behind. Ajeetesh Sandhu finished fifth at 16-under after four straight rounds of 68.
Manu Gandas produced the round of the day, equalling the course record with an 8-under 64 to jump 21 places into T-9 at 11-under.
The week turned into a scoring showcase. Vishesh Sharma opened with 65, Honey Baisoya set the mark at 64 in round two, Shubhankar matched it in round three, and Gandas equalled it again on Sunday.
Sharma, playing his first PGTI event since 2021, credited both mindset and rhythm for the performance.
“Coming back feels very comforting,” he said. “I’m happy to be playing the way I believe I can.”
Khalin Joshi and Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar finished T-12 at 10-under, while Yuvraj Sandhu ended T-18 at 7-under.
What it means: A statement win for Sharma — not just a return, but a reminder of his class.
What’s next: The tour moves to Nuh for the DP World Players Championship at Classic Golf & Country Club (April 21–24).
