Akshay Bhatia closed with a 2-under 68 at East Lake, while Scottie Scheffler overturned a three-shot deficit to win the Tour Championship and his second FedExCup title.

Akshay Bhatia rounded off his PGA Tour season with a tied-18th finish at the Tour Championship, closing with a 2-under 68 at East Lake Golf Club.

The 24-year-old, a three-time winner on Tour, posted rounds of 65, 69, 71 and 68 for a 7-under total. He improved four places from his overnight position of tied 22nd and ended the season 21st in the FedExCup standings.

Bhatia began his final round with 12 consecutive pars before making his first birdie at the 13th. He surrendered that gain with a bogey at the 16th but finished strongly, making birdies on each of the final two holes.

At the top, Scheffler produced a closing 66 to finish three strokes clear and secure his second FedExCup crown. It was his third victory of the season, second in three playoff events and 22nd PGA Tour title in five years.

Starting three shots behind, Scheffler launched his comeback by hitting a five-iron to within two inches at the 211-yard second. He drew level with Viktor Hovland by holing a 25-foot birdie putt at the fourth and moved ahead for the first time at the 13th.

Bogeys at the seventh and 14th failed to halt his charge as none of the other leading six players broke par during the final round.

Hovland struggled to convert his opportunities on the back nine and signed for a 72 to finish alone in second. Ryan Gerard also shot 72 and claimed third after beginning his round with a double bogey.

Unlike his 2024 triumph under the starting-strokes format, Scheffler recorded the outright lowest 72-hole total this time. The victory also moved him past Tiger Woods in career PGA Tour earnings and strengthened his case for a fifth consecutive Player of the Year award.
