Major champion Justin Rose will make his professional debut in India at the DP World India Championship, set to be played from October 15–18, 2026, at Delhi Golf Club.
The World No. 5 headlines a world-class field for the $4 million event, joining defending champion Tommy Fleetwood and back-to-back Masters winner Rory McIlroy. Fans can now register their interest for tickets ahead of the tournament.
Rose, one of the most accomplished players of his generation, has been a mainstay at the top of the game since his breakthrough DP World Tour win in 2002. His career highlights include the 2013 U.S. Open title, Olympic gold in 2016, and 13 PGA TOUR victories. He also made his seventh Ryder Cup appearance last year, helping Europe secure a historic away win in the United States.
“I’ve played all over the world over the course of my career, and I’m excited to add India to that list this season,” Rose said. “I’ve heard so much about the passion of golf fans there, so I’m really looking forward to experiencing it and teeing it up in Delhi.”
Fleetwood returns after winning the inaugural edition last year — part of a standout season that also saw him claim the FedExCup — while McIlroy’s presence adds further star power following his recent Masters triumph.
Launched in 2025, the DP World India Championship is co-sanctioned with the DP World PGTI and offers the largest prize purse ever for a DP World Tour event in India. It forms a key part of the Back 9 phase of the Race to Dubai, building towards the season-ending Play-Offs.
The event underlines India’s growing stature as a global golf destination, complementing the long-standing Hero Indian Open and strengthening the Tour’s footprint in the region.
Hemant Kumar Ruia, Country Manager, DP World India Subcontinent, said: “Justin Rose has competed at the highest level globally, so it’s a proud moment to see India on his schedule. The DP World India Championship reflects our ambition to connect new markets through world-class sport.”
What it means: Another marquee name added — the field is shaping into one of the strongest ever seen in India.
What’s next: Ticket details will be announced soon as anticipation builds for October in Delhi.
